Look I don't anything against Jim Barker the Argos new Head Coach he'll probably do a fine job based on his level of experience but what happened to stepping outside the box just a bit.

A couple years back the Calgary Stampeders needed a HC and as part of their search they looked south of the border and found John Huffnagel a X player (QB) & coach in the CFL that made his way to the NFL a number of years ago and made a very significant mark as a teacher and offensive strategist. Oh and look they won a Grey Cup and he was voted coach of the year.

This year the Bombers weren't afraid to look within the ranks of  CFL coaches and found Paul LaPolice X OC of the Green Riders for their new head guy, a great choice by the way.

I know the Argo brain trust looked at George Cortez the Calgary OC but he opted to head a bit south and sign with the Bills which will be a story worth following. They also looked hard at and offered Als OC Scott Milanovich the job but he felt better about returning to the defending Grey Cup Champs to see if they can stage a repeat performance in 2010.

And what's with Greg Marshall the DC for the Cats, this is a guy whos had great success in this league for many many years but can't seem to for what ever reason catch a break in the HC ranks.

When the Argos announced Barker as their new HC the line was" this was a no brainer for the organization" just like the hiring of the last 3 guys I'm guessing, well the phrase "no brainer" now means exactly that I'm afraid.
